STUDIO 201 is an artist collective located in Peterborough Ontario run entirely by volunteer members. Our aim is to bring together aspiring and professional artists in a supportive space and to support the growth of local arts and culture. We offer open studios in life drawing, portraiture, and landscape, as well as providing artist-instructed workshops and courses, and an en plein air painters group.  

We have member and non-member rates for all open studios, courses and workshops.

The "Advanced Landscape Group" (aka "What Would Lucy Do?") originated with Lucy Manley's "Alla Prima" class. In Lucy's absence, her students have elected to continue meeting and painting as a self-directed group. Our convenor is Jewell Allington. Are you tired of painting alone? Do you have an "almost-finished" painting from a course or workshop? This is the place to be. There is no instruction in this group, but members are always very happy to offer advice or lend a hand. Sessions are open to all skill levels and all mediums. Draw or paint, and feel the freedom of experimentation in a supportive safe environment. Each Open Studio is hosted by a member of the collective and is available on a pay-as-you-go basis. Monday mid-day: 10am  to 1pm Cost per session: Members $3 Non-members $5

Studio 201 is conveniently located in downtown Peterborough in the historic PCVS/PACE building at 201 McDonnel Street.

Cancellation Policy

A registrant may withdraw from a course 7 days or more before it begins and receive a full refund minus a 20% administration charge. There are no refunds for withdrawals within 7 days of a course commencing.

If a course is cancelled by Studio 201 before it begins, fees will be refunded in full. If a course session is cancelled once the course has begun and cannot be rescheduled, a pro-rated refund will be provided. Any participant who is unable to attend a rescheduled session will receive a pro-rated refund for that session.
